Wenzel
Surfboards
Born and raised in Italy from 1973.
Wenzel started to shape in the final of 1997, before that he repaired boards for himself and their friends one day Ruggero Taschini gave to him a plane and a blank and from there the magic adventure of shaping started.
Following his love for the waves at the beginning of 2000 together with his really good friend Gianluca Veglianti he moved to the Canary Islands.
There he finally found his path and started a collaboration with some master craft of surfboard to learn and build his actual background in the factory.
First working with Bruce Mckee in Tenerife and then close to Christopher Hunt in Bilbao, both Australians and both really involved in the professional surf circus.
Hand shaper from the beginning is a sort of old school guy surrounded by the vision of the future.
Wenzel is an open mind guy, he loves to make customs orders, working close to his customers, talking and sharing feedback to create a perfect custom toy for each of them.
He hand shaped more than 2000 surf boards during the last 25 years.
If you don’t find Wenzel at the factory looking for his four-wheel drive on the north shore searching for some waves.
